Where do I park?

Crane Beach parking lot 310 Argilla Road, near where race starts and finishes.

Will there be race day registration?

Yes. Be reminded the race has a limited field and registration will close when that limit is reached. So register early so you do not miss out. This race was sold out in 2016 in less than a week!

When and Where can I pick up my bib?

Can I have somebody else pick up my bib?

Yes.

Can I get a refund if I register but do not run in race? Inclement Weather?

Sorry, once you have registered there are no refunds and you may not transfer your number to another person. There is also NO rain date for this event. The race director reserves the right to modify, shorten, or cancel the race in the case of inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances that make the race unsafe. Race management will work with Trustees and volunteers to determine if cancellation is required.

Can I run with a stroller or my dog?

No sorry, strollers and dogs are not allowed on the course for safety reasons

Can I run with headphones?

We strongly discourage the use of headphones to ensure runner safety to hear traffic and race marshals along the course.

When should I arrive before the race?

Plan to be early! Arrive 60 minutes before the race so you have ample time to park and get to the start corral.

When do I line up for race start?

Please be at the start corral not later than for 8:50 a.m.

What is the course time limit?

The course will be open and supported for 3 hours for runner's safety.

Is there a place to leave my belongings?

No, please secure all your things in your car as we are not responsible for anything left behind or unattended.

Does any part of the course run on the beach?

No, the course is on regular paved roads with a small section on a well maintained dirt road near the beginning.

Are the roads closed for the race?

The roads are NOT closed for this race. We have police and race marshals at all corners, but please be aware of traffic on the course. In congested areas there will be a lane of cones for the runners. Please run within the cones for your own safety.

Will there be Aid Station Stops?

Yes, there will be three aid stations along the route at miles 4, 6.4 and 11 with water and Gatorade.

Will there be restroom facilities?

Yes, portapotties will be at the Start/Finish area and 2 more spots along the route (mile 4 and mile 9).

Do half marathon finishers receive medals?

Yes! Everyone that completes the half marathon will receive an “Ipswich Ale 1/2 Marathon” commemorative medal.

Are there awards for the top finishers?

Yes, there are cash awards for top overall finishers, female and male, as well as age group winners. You must be present to receive your award. Cash awards not claimed will be donated to the scholarship fund of Ipswich Rotary.

Finish Line Festivities?

Each runner (over 21) will receive a drink coupon for Ipswich Ale or a Mercury Brewing Soda. A variety of post-race refreshments will also be available including music by J & C Entertainment, Copperdome Crust Pizza, Little Wolf Coffee Cart, and the "Whoopie Pie" Wagon! More to come!

Where do the proceeds go?

The Ipswich Rotary Charitable Trust receives proceeds for the distribution to local charities and the local Scholarship fund for Ipswich and Triton High School​. This event is hosted by the Ipswich Rotary Club in coordination with the Ipswich Family YMCA and a cast of experienced local runners with over 200 marathons collectively.
