Race day registration
The race has sold out each of the past three years. The field will be capped and we expect the race to sell out again this year. Limited race day registration will be available only if the race has not sold out. Check the website for registration status.
Race T-shirts and Medals
Each registered runner will receive a “Storm the Castle!” race t-shirt that will be available when you pick up your bib. Due to the lead time involved with procuring our race t-shirts, we cannot guarantee t-shirt sizes. There will be no refunds. Shirts must be picked up on Friday April 26th or Saturday April 27th when runners pick up their bibs – shirts will not be mailed. In addition, each finisher will receive an official Ipswich Ale Half Marathon medal.

Race Day, Saturday April 27th: 6:30 am-7:50 am, Crane Beach, 310 Argilla Rd, Ipswich
Start and parking locations
The race starts and finishes at Crane Beach, 310 Argilla Road, Ipswich, MA. Parking for runners and spectators is in the Crane Beach parking lot next to the start/finish area.
Parking lot time
Crane Beach parking lot will be open on race day morning by 6:15 am.
Bag drop
There is no bag drop. Please secure your belongings in your car.
Dogs
For safety reasons, runners are not allowed to run with dogs. Since dogs are not allowed on Trustee property after March 31st, spectators are also asked to leave their dogs at home.
Water on course
There are five water stops on the course at miles (approx) 2.5, 4.5, 7.5, 9.5, and 11.5. Gatorade will be available at the 7.5 mile water stop.
Restrooms/portapotties
Thanks to the Trustees of Reservations, runners will be able to use the Crane Beach restrooms which are located adjacent to the parking lot and the start/finish area. There will also be several portapotties in the start/finish area and portapotties on the course at miles (approx) 4.5, 7.5 and 9.5.
Medical support on course
Medical support will be located at the start/finish area as well as out on the course. There will also be multiple police officers, course marshals and volunteers along the course for your safety.
Cash awards
There will be cash awards for the top male and female overall winners, Ipswich resident winners and age group winners (under 20, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and over 70) Runners cannot win more than one award. Awards must be claimed at the awards table in the finish area by 11:30 am. Awards will not be mailed.
Race after party
Don’t miss the popular Ipswich Ale Half Marathon after race party! Ipswich Ale and Mercury Brewing soda will be available for purchase at the after party and each runner over 21 will receive a free Ipswich Ale or soda. I.D. will be required. New this year – in addition to the traditional post race bagels and bananas, runners will get free pizza! And finally, Master of Ceremonies extraordinaire Michael Bernier (https://www.michaelbernierandtheuprising.com) will be back again this year to keep the music and party going all morning.
